How to import data from a machine readable data source?

In TolaData, you can import data directly from common data collection tools, like ONA, Kobo Toolbox and cloud storage platforms, like Google Spreadsheets via an API.

Plus, you can import data from Excel files or common data collection tools like ODK, CommCare and SurveyCTO by converting them into a CSV file first.

Here’s how to do it – click on ‘Data tables’ and once you are in the Data tables section, click ‘Import data.’ Now select a source you are importing your dataset from. Once imported, your data will appear under the ‘Data tables’ section and is readily accessible for analysis.

Data solutions that are compatible with TolaData:

  • Direct imports via API: Google Drive (Spreadsheets), Ona, KoBo Toolbox (JSON Feed)
  • Imports via CSV: Microsoft Excel, ODK, CommCare, SurveyCTO
