TolaData, in partnership with Uni Oldenburg, has been awarded a joint grant to co-develop new digital solutions for impact monitoring and learning, under a new German federal government initiative to kickstart innovation for solving social challenges.

The grant was awarded as part of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) DATIpilot initiative, which saw around 3,000 proposal submissions from applicants around Germany. The DATIpilot program is aimed at encouraging a diverse range of actors ranging from academic institutions to large-scale enterprises, offering accessible funding focused on advancing social innovations.

Combining shared expertise in digital innovation and education, TolaData and Uni Oldenburg are developing and testing a digital tool around challenge-based learning (CBL) models to make co-innovation projects in the higher-education context plannable and scalable.

Founded in 1973, Uni Oldenburg cooperates closely with more than 200 other universities worldwide and is affiliated with non-university institutes in the areas of research, education, culture and business. Heading the university’s partnership with TolaData is Prof. Dr. Klaus Fichter, an adjunct professor in the Department of Economics and Law, where he leads the research and teaching area of innovation management and sustainability.

Thanks to the BMBF and the DATIpilot initiative for this exciting opportunity. We look forward to collaborating with our partners on new innovative digital solutions.
