GIS Map Widget

The GIS map widget shows your results geographically on a dashboard. It lets you spot regional patterns, gaps and coverage at a glance.

Use your own boundaries

Organisations can load their own precise boundary files (shapefiles). Results are then shown against the exact administrative areas or regions relevant to your programmes, rather than generic map outlines. Each workspace is linked to its corresponding area (polygon), and its indicator data is shown directly on the map.

Add a GIS map to a dashboard

  1. Add a new widget to your dashboard.
  2. Select the GIS map widget type.
  3. Choose the polygons, workflow levels or data tables to display.

Drilling down

Viewers can drill down into a specific area, for example a country, to see the indicators associated with it without leaving the dashboard. This includes aggregated and contributing indicator values, along with related metadata and notes.

Note: the separate “Map data” widget shows workspace sites as points. See Types of Widgets.
